Working Principles of Brush DC Gear Motor

A gearbox (also known as a reduction gearbox) is used to reduce the motor's speed while increasing torque output.

Gear Transmission: The gearbox consists of several gears, typically including one or more pairs of gears of different sizes. The larger gears mesh with smaller gears, reducing the input speed.

Reducing Speed and Increasing Torque: Through the gear reduction, the output shaft of the gearbox rotates at a lower speed compared to the motor shaft, while the output torque is increased. This is because the power (motor output power) remains constant during the transmission, and as the speed decreases, the torque increases.
